Just wait until it rains.
I fell in love with the cute design and bought a pair of chooka rainboots on impulse for $55. For the first few weeks they offered adequate protection but the thin lining rubbed terribly against my ankles and made my shins sweat. They also gave me thick blisters on the souls of my feet but at least they kept me dry. Then several months after my purchase (and right around when it was too late to return them) my left boot filled up with water when I was out for a walk. It seems that the seal had given out. I hadn't done anything to cause it--it's obviously a manufacturing defect. I wish I'd gone with the far cheaper pair of Target boots my friend got. I'd have about $30 more in my pocket and dry feet. Live and learn.More detail ...
